PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
 
1996- to PRESENT

HARRIS COUNTY HOSPITAL DISTRICT
HOUSTON, TEXAS

Director of Imaging services Mammography/ CHP Radiology
  • Manage entire mammography program and outpatient radiology in the community health centers for a large public hospital system (third largest in the nation), which includes three hospitals and multiple community health facilities.
  • Created and manages a comprehensive case management program for all abnormal mammograms and related procedures with no lost to follow-up in 10 years.
  • Program Director for the Breast and Cervical Control Program grant contract with The Texas Department of State Health Services for 14 years.
  • Write proposals and manage multiple grants from various funding sources in order to expand or improve services (over $6.5 million in funding procured).
  • Responsible for ensuring timely follow-up on all suspicious findings while continuing to expand services and improve technology by managing all resources and prioritizing activities well.
  • Facilitate Referrals and follow up to multidisciplinary specialty clinics (Surgery Pathology and Oncology) for mammography patients.
  • Coordinate continuous quality assurance and performance improvement programs for all mammography facilities resulting in consistent superior ratings on all FDA MQSA and DSHS inspections for all facilities (5 Fixed screening sites 2 diagnostic sites and a mobile program with five additional sites)
  • Serve as active member on Cancer Committee for 14 years
  • Serve as member On Performance Improvement Committee
  • Recently expanded screening services and comprehensive case management services for cervical cancer.
  • Serve on multiple task forces in the community.
  • Served on the advisory board for the Breast and Cervical Cancer
    Action Plan for the state of Texas.

  • Implemented a quality assurance program that exceeded the requirements of ACR, FDA, TDH, and Medicare.
  • Developed and implemented Breast Health Awareness seminars which were presented to various clubs and organizations throughout North Houston and various cities in East Texas.
  • Conducted training for staff technologists, which enabled them to obtain Advanced Certification in Mammography.
  • Researched and recommended capital equipment expenditures to upgrade NEMCH Mammography facilities.
  • Wrote the Policies and Procedures Manual for two Mammography facilities.

  • Implemented a Quality Assurance program, which resulted in a 100% improvement in image quality.
  • Coordinated the efforts of several departments to improve the Mammography Services offered to communities throughout South and Southeast Texas.
  • Managed all aspects of Mobile Unit Mammography Services offered at this facility, which resulted in increased efficiency and higher patient loads.
